We took a week long trip to NYC in March. It was the longest time we have spent in the city and we definitely tried to relax and not run around full force every day! We definitely spent more time relaxing in the hotel room and sleeping. I even ordered Chinese food to be delivered one night because we didn't want to get dressed or walk anywhere.
We went back to Do this trip (twice...) as well as a stop at Dominique Ansel for a cronut! I got my favorite Nuts for Nuts flavor from Do and also tried the Brookie flavor which was brownie batter and chocolate chip dough, it was good but definitely rich!
I was headed to Dominique Ansel to get some DKAs (the Dominique Ansel Kouign Amann) but the line wasn't that long for a cronut so I decided to get one of those too. It was the best that I've had from there. The flavor for March was Blackberry Buttermilk with blackberry jam filling and a lime zest sugar coating. The icing was the best part and I devoured the whole thing in a few minutes!
We also tried out Black Tap for burgers. We didn't get their amazing looking milkshakes, but we enjoyed watching other people order them.
We met Rachael's Irish friend and her boyfriend in the city for a coupe of days, so we made a trip to the Top of the Rock which I always love. I would like to go back at night time one day though.
We wandered through Macy's flagship store during their flower festival which was pretty cool.
We did our third tour at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum which was a blast as always. This time we did the new Under One Roof tour which is set in a new building for the museum and has stories of families from the 1940's to the 1980's. It is definitely different than the other tenement museum tours we went on, plus it was 90 minutes long. It was fun and I spent way too much money in the amazing Tenement Museum gift shop.
We wandered through Central Park. We were going to sit by the Conservatory Pond (the one that usually has little toy boats floating on it), but it had been drained for the season it looked like. Not quite as scenic. My favorite place to take pics in Central Park continues to be near the Bethesda Fountain. Although the park when the fall leaves are changing is my favorite thing to photograph.
We stopped back by the Strand Bookstore again and I only bought one book! So proud of myself.
We made our first visit to the Museum of the City of New York which was really interesting. There was a really cool history of the city of New York exhibit as well as an Activist exhibit and a Feminist/Suffragette exhibit that I loved.
We happend to be in NYC for the March For Our Lives march for gun control. There were soooo many people out marching and so many kids!! It was really amazing to see. I loved these girls pictured, they were leading their own chants.
All in all we had a nice relaxing time in the city and I'm looking forward to going back later this year, maybe around Christmas time!
Anything amazing I should do or eat next time I'm there???
